MAYFIELD SPECIAL SCHOOL, Whitehaven, Cumbria
"Roald Dahl ....... use your imagination!"

Roald Dahl is a great author. Sitting in his shed in his back garden he created lots of wacky characters. We take you on a journey linking some of his books. He used his imagination. Can you use yours too? This performance is dedicated to Esther - a pupil who loved being in Rock Challenge but sadly passed away last year.

NETHERHALL SCHOOL SPECIALIST SPORTS COLLEGE, Maryport, Cumbria
"STANDBY"

Who is controlling the MEDIA? Is it the MEDIA BOSSES or is it the INSATIABLE PUBLIC? Are we being remotely controlled or are we controlling the FAME, CELEBRITY, SCANDAL and SPIN? We endeavour to explore the power of the PAPARAZZI and to learn how to ?CRITICALLY ANALYSE? in order to filter the TRUTH from the HYPE.

ST JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, Workington, Cumbria
"UNITED AS A KINGDOM"

2012 - the date on everyone's lips. This performance embraces the Olympic theme of uniting nations. Through dances from different cultures and colour we seek to portray the themes of passion, faith, victory, work ethic and sportsmanship. A tribute to the Olympic Games in London, a snapshot of the magic of the opening ceremony. Are you ready? Get set for 2012.

THE LAKES SCHOOL, Windermere, Cumbria
"Will this be the Start of Something?"

A tale as old as time about a girl and a boy from different backgrounds. A chance meeting, their eyes lock and they know they need to be together. Can they sort out their differences and work together? They find out they are not so different after all. Will this be the start of something?

ULLSWATER COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Penrith, Cumbria
"There's no place like home"

The Wizard of Oz is one of the most famous stories ever written and the most watched film in history. We have developed our own version of this story entitled "There's no place like home", which we hope emphasises the importance of our school working together as a single community where we help and support one another.

SOUTHFIELD TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, Workington, Cumbria - SHOWCASING PREMIER TEAM
"When The Geese Shed Their Feathers"

British settlers landing in America in the 1800s would have perished, but for the help and kindness of the native peoples. However, once we discovered the riches and the resources of those unspoilt expanses, we contrived, in our greed, to appropriate all of those lands to ourselves, by falsehood, fraud, theft and genocide. Our performance depicts this shameful history.
